Ahileswary Mahenthran, Resilient Mother and Pillar of Her Family, Passes Away in Oakland, CA
Ahileswary Mahenthran, a dedicated mother and immigrant who overcame numerous challenges to build a stable life for her family, tragically passed away recently, leaving her loved ones heartbroken.
Born and raised in Sri Lanka, Ahila’s journey was one of resilience and determination. As a young mother, she made the brave decision to leave her homeland in search of safety and a better future for her child. Along the way, she faced hardship and uncertainty, but her strength and unwavering commitment to her family carried her through.
After settling in the United States, Ahila worked for many years at Walmart, providing for her family and creating a sense of stability. Her devotion to her two sons was evident in everything she did. Ahila's love, sacrifice, and hard work shaped their lives and gave them opportunities she had fought so hard to secure.
Ahila was the heart of her family—steadfast, selfless, and always there when they needed her most. Her passing leaves a deep void that cannot be filled, and her absence is keenly felt by all who knew her.
A fundraiser has been set up to support her family with funeral expenses and to help with immediate household needs as her sons navigate this difficult transition.
In a Facebook post, close friend Krithiga Venkatachalam expressed her condolences, saying, "Ahila will be remembered as a woman who faced life's challenges with quiet strength, always putting her family above everything else."
Ahila’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and the many friends who were touched by her life.
